Want a change from painting pottery? Mosaics are easy to make and fun to do! Mosaics are like a puzzle that can be as easy or as difficult as you wish to make it. They are also the perfect as a last minute gift (since you get to take them home the same day).
How it works
Step 1: Select a wood base.
Our
bases are made of recycled material. They are environmentally friendly
and will not warp over time the way other surfaces might. We have a
variety of shapes to choose from including: frames, trivets, mirrors,
and more.
Step 2: Design your piece.
Now it is time to design your piece. You
can draw your initial design on paper, directly on your piece, or lay it out in
tesserae on your surface.
Step 3: Tiles and Gems
Choose glass tiles and gems to create your design. You can even bring your own
tesserae such as sea shells, buttons, marbles or broken china to make your
creation truly unique.
Step 4: Gluing Tiles
Glue tiles to your surface. You need to leave a minimum of
1/8" between each tile for grout.
Step 5: Drying and Grout
Allow the glue to dry completely overnight before
grouting. We provide you with grout and easy instructions to finish your piece at home.
Prices...
Our regular studio fee is $8 or $6 for children under 13, plus
the cost of the mosaic shape you choose. Mosaic shapes range in price
from $12 and up. The studio fee covers the cost of the tesserae tiles,
adhesive, and a take-home mosaic grout kit with instruction |
