Now, you can join in the fun and learn the art of mosaic making. No previous experience is necessary. It is amazing that something so beautiful can be so simple to create! Half Baked Pottery offers a wide variety of shapes, tesserae (mosaic glass & ceramic pieces) and grouts.

How it works

~Step 1~

Select a wood base. Our mosaics area has everything you will need to make a variety of items, such as frames, mirrors, trivets, jewelry boxes and more. Invite some friends and sit down for a couple of hours of fun and creativity.

~Step 2~

Design your piece - Now it is time to design your piece. You can draw your initial design on paper, directly on your piece, or lay it out in tesserae on your surface.

~Step 3~

Choose glass tiles and gems to create your design. You can even bring some of your own tesserae such as sea shells, buttons, marbles or broken china to make your creation truly unique.

~Step 4~

Glue tiles to your wood piece. Apply adhesive to your surface. Lay down your adhesive in sections. You need to leave a minimum of 1/8" between each tile to leave room for grout.

~Step 5~

Allow your adhesive to dry completely (24-48 hours) before grouting. We provide you with grout and instructions to finish your piece at home.

Mosaic shapes range in price from $13 and up. You pay for the mosaic shape you select and that is all! This cost covers the shape, the tesserae tiles, adhesive, and a take-home mosaic grout kit with instructions.
